What if by the end of this weekend you could confidently say something in Dutch? No kidding. This weekend challenge is for anyone who wants a fast, fun way to dip their toes into Dutch—and maybe surprise themselves. Grab your phone, your headphones and your attitude. Let’s go.
1. Friday night: tune in & pick phrases
Spend 30 minutes watching a short Dutch YouTube clip or a Netflix intro scene. Pause and write down 5 phrases you find cool (e.g., “Hoe gaat het?”, “Tot morgen!”, “Ik ben hier op vakantie”). Practice saying them out loud.
2. Saturday: use them in the real world
Go to a café, a shop or a Dutch-language social page. Say those phrases out loud—even if you’re just practising in your head. The act of speaking makes everything more real.
3. Sunday: record yourself & reflect
Record a 2-minute video of you saying those phrases, maybe even talking about something simple: “Ik ben … [name] en ik leer Nederlands.” Watch it back. Notice what sounded weird, what felt right. One tweak = big progress.
You won’t become fluent in 48 hours—but you’ll get started. And getting started is where most people stop. With DutchProf, we turn your weekend into a launch pad.
